Natural and Protective Styling Contest

Calling all Paul Mitchell School Future Professionals, Learning Leaders and Alumni! Calling all Paul Mitchell School Future Professionals, Learning Leaders and Alumni! We are excited to share our Style and Texture System contest series in anticipation for the launch of the NEW Paul Mitchell Schools Style and Texture System app launching late spring 2024! There will be a total of three contests, each a duration of three weeks. 

Each contest will have a combination of winners which are Paul Mitchell School Future Professional winner, Paul Mitchell School Learning Leaders winner, and Paul Mitchell School Alumni – for a grand total of nine winners by the end of the contest series. 

These nine winners will qualify for our grand prize – A virtual master class with non-other than Emmy Award Winning and Editorial Director, John Paul Mitchell Systems, Noogie Thai – Get to know Noogie Thai and his amazing talents! This will be an intimate virtual class with only nine attendees held July 8th,10:00am-12:00pm (pacific). Virtual class will include a long haired doll head to participate in theory and hands on demonstration.

Natural and Protective Styling Contest Rules and Details:

Contest #3 Natural and Protective Styling Details – Use one or all of the following techniques: Cornrow Braiding, Feed-In Braids, and/or Faux Locs.

• Select a live model or doll head of your choice and take us on your journey to create your look(s). 

1. Please use your creative freedom when selecting a model.

2. They may be any gender, as well as texture and formation of hair from 1A-4C; please follow all health and safety protocols.

• Finished looks must be styled using Paul Mitchell products and diffusing techniques. Use any combination of Paul Mitchell products and Pro Tools.

• Only one person can work on a model, and can not be collaborative.

• Post four photos as a carousel (one post with multiple photos) that represents your finished results from before to after. Best practice is to put your end result photo first so it’s eye-catching on your social feed.

1. Post a before photo.

2. Post a finished front view end result photo (your best shot!)

3. Post a side profile photo of the end result

4. Post back view 

• Hair extensions and accessories are allowed. 

• IMPORTANT information you must include in your social media post:

1. Make sure your Instagram account is public. 

2. Use the hashtag #StyleAndTextureContest3

3. Write if you are a Paul Mitchell School Future Professional, Learning Leader, or an Alumni.

4. Tag the Paul Mitchell School you attend as a current Future Professional, work at, or went to school as a former Future Professional.
